    Leads and assists in the supervision of all staff for all aspects of event set-ups for the Gulfport Campus and at Tampa Campus as needed. Monitor EMS to organize and plan events set ups and takedowns. To perform a wide range of custodial tasks involving the use of cleaning equipment and materials . The successful candidate will perform basic custodial duties at various College facilities and other work as required .

    Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

    + Expectations are for the Team Lead to be part of the Facilities Operations working team who will be responsible for custodial & events set up and take-downs. On-call hours are a part of the position .

    + Supervise maintenance and custodial staff engaged in event set-up and take-downs, including monitoring performance levels and work quality, reporting issues of concern, and recommending discipline as appropriate .

    + Directs the activity of assigned custodians/event set-ups staff, consistent with the Facilities Operations Manager direction in a manner that achieves the cost-effective utilization of personnel.

    + Determines priority of work, unless otherwise directed, and rearranges schedules to accommodate changed conditions.

    + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local OSHA regulations and regularly perform equipment safety orientations and inspections, in conjunction with the Facilities Operation Manager.

    + Maintain an inventory of equipment, maintenance materials and supplies.

    + Performs periodic inspections of work areas, buildings and related structures and assures steps are taken to maintain the same in accordance with recognized standards.

    + Provide a report of any needed equipment repair or unsafe conditions.

    + Coordinates and supervises the set-up and take-down of all scheduled EMS events.

    + Monitors EMS for updates/changes for event set-ups and take-downs.

    + Assists in all furniture moves for office relocations.

    + Communicate well with peers and Department Managers.

    + Promote a clean, safe work environment.

    + Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    + Work closely with the Conference and Events Department to ensure timely and accurate event set-ups and take-downs

    Required Skills

    + Must have the ability to effectively communicate and establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the University community.

    + Must be able to understand and follow through with oral and written instructions, including giving instructions to others, and working independently.

    + Must be able to plan and implement projects.

    + Works to build an environment that promotes and facilitates the success of diversity and inclusive excellence

     

    Work Conditions : Work duties performed both indoors and outdoors with some customer interaction. Work involves frequent walking; standing; some lifting and must be able to lift objects weighing as much as 50 lbs.; bending, stooping; may involve the operations of equipment in which manipulative skills and eye-hand coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations. Work may require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Required Experience

    + High school diploma/GED required . A.A./A.S. preferred. Minimum 1-year supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

    + This is a working supervisor position. Occasional night and weekend work may be required . Subject to on-call status as needed or on-call status/recall in the event of emergencies or natural disasters affecting the College of Law.

    + Basic PC skills include MS Word, MS Outlook (Email), and internet searches. Ability to use basic facilities maintenance work order system to manage tasks.

     

    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the University’s auto insurance carrier.
