    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Application Engineer II as part of the Data Management and BI will participate in the development and deployment of Data Warehouse and BI products aligned to the business’s strategic plans. The employee should have a strong understanding of clinical and/or financial healthcare data and processes to support various Accounting, Financial Reporting, and CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicate Services) processes including yearly quality performance submissions and the management of the underlying data to create required metrics. The employee will work closely with the business and other development teams.

     

    The Application Engineer II as part of the Data Management and BI should be able to effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse population, demonstrate a forward-looking perspective, and be able to manage tactical decision-making processes. This role should practice attentive listening, and display empathy towards others' ideas and perspectives. The candidate should perform all duties with a focus on quality of work and attention to detail with a high level of self-management and self-awareness and maintain strong relationships with business partners and product users to develop an understanding of how business owners/practitioners utilize the product(s).

    Technical

    + General expertise/experience in data acquisition, data cleansing and parsing required.

    + General expertise/experience in data analysis, modeling and visualization required.

    + General expertise/experience in data technologies such as Google BigQuery, Teradata Vantage, Oracle, SQL Server, or other DBMS.

    + General expertise/experience in the areas of data structures and data warehousing required.

    + Understanding of MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Power BI, or other Enterprise BI tools.

    + General experience implementing and overseeing data quality and governance using appropriate testing and change management processes

    + General expertise/experience with ETL and development tools such as Teradata Protocol Transport, SSIS, Python, and PowerShell

     

    Preferred Competencies

    Requirements

    + Knowledge of Clinical and Financial Applications.

    + Knowledge of EMR or Practice Management Systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, GE Centricity, NextGen, etc.

    + Experienced data professional and subject matter expert with a full understanding of data tools and concepts; ability to resolve a wide range of highly-complex issues in creative ways.

    + Experience in the design of products to ensure products align to the customer's strategic plans and technology road maps

    + Motivates value-based decision making and Lean principles across teams

    + Articulates existing system structure, constraints and deficiencies with product to development, customer engagement, architecture and support teams

    + Contributes to technology option discussions and decisions for a product

    + Pursues new methods and solutions, thinks outside the box, connects disparate ideas, is comfortable using unorthodox methods

    + Experience with a variety of Database Management Systems (DBMS) especially Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, etc.

    Relevant Experience

    + Minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical experience with most key competencies

    + Bachelor’s degree is required, or comparable experience may be considered in lieu of degree
