Job Title: Transmission Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Transmission Engineer with expertise in overhead design to lead the technical execution of projects within the engineering discipline. This role involves planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed project phases independently, while collaborating with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. The successful candidate will provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior staff, and be involved in the technical development of proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities

+ Lead the technical execution of transmission projects, ensuring high-quality design and efficient production.

+ Provide expert consultation and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

+ Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed project phases independently.

+ Resolve complex technical issues and monitor project progress and performance.

+ Recognize and correct technical discrepancies in analytical results.

+ Recommend design improvements to enhance quality.

+ Develop proposals and conduct external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

+ Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.

+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience.

+ Expert knowledge of engineering disciplines with practical application of best practices.

+ Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

+ Understanding of QA/QC procedures and business practices related to engineering.

+ Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency with PLS-Suite and Microsoft Office software.

+ Experience in a professional engineering society or organization is preferred.

+ Desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

+ Willingness to assist more experienced staff.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work environment, with a preference for candidates living near any office location. However, for candidates with strong transmission line design experience, remote work is an option. The work environment fosters collaboration, continuous learning, and offers exposure to multiple utilities, driving growth in the field.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
