    Hospital: Rush University Medical Center

    Department: IM Rheumatology - Office

    **Work Type:** Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)

    **Shift:** Shift 1

    **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:30:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM)

    **Pay Range:** $18.87 - $29.73 per hour

    The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative functions required to effectively organize and coordinate the functions of the Emergency Medicine Department. Professional competency, strong interpersonal skills, initiative and good judgment in problem solving are essential to the position. The incumbent must maintain a courteous, helpful, professional image at all times and promote teamwork by working with others in other departments and with peers. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, values and acts in accordance with Rush Policies and procedures.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

    • 1-3 year’s experience

    • Above average written and verbal communication skills;

    • Flexibility and ability to manage work in a changing environment;

    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook);

    • Strong Organizational and problem-solving skills;

    • Able to work under minimal supervision;

    • Ability to sit 80% of the time

    Responsibilities:

    • Complete data entry and update/create reports as assigned with heavy use of Microsoft Excel.

    • Update and distribute schedules.

    • Assist with special projects, create documents, and revise forms as requested.

    • Maintain Provider On-Call room with supplies and up-keep.

    • Assists in preparation for meetings.

    • Complete department supply orders.

    • Communicate effectively among departments.
