    Responsibilities

    As an Estimator/Planner, the successful applicant will provide planning, estimating, design review support, contract oversight, and systems management with a primary focus ability to accomplish planning/estimating in support of engineering design, all trades, and the Facility, Infrastructure and Heavy Repair Shops.

     

    + The employee will work alongside engineers, other planners, shop supervisors and trade experts to define maintenance and repair requirements plans to include performing site visits, review of work as well as accomplishing single line drawings and detailed cost estimates (with material/man-hour breakouts).

    + The employee will work under direction of the Portfolio Optimization Manager to provide administrative and operational support for all Civil Engineer work centers to ensure that contractual and regulatory compliance and system integrity is maintained.

    Qualifications

    + This role may require company vehicles to be driven.

    + Experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree in the Building or Engineering trades.

    + Conducts field investigations to obtain data and develop scope or detailed cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and alteration of facilities/infrastructure including associated systems.

    + Supports design, development, and implementation of engineering projects including determination of scope, equipment selection and cost estimation.

    + Coordinates small project design and construction scope and scheduling with customers.

    + Establishes specific tasks, schedules, and performance measurement criteria for the program.

    + Ability to use RS Means, cost works, or local market survey information to develop labor and material cost estimates for proposed work.

    + Provides operational information for Akima Facilities Operations management when requested

    + Develops and manages small out-sourced service requests in support of CE Operations.

    + Maintains written database records as assigned.

    + Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Akima Facilities Operations contract.
