Job Summary

The City of West Des Moines is seeking Temporary/Seasonal On-Call Snowplow Operators to perform snow removal and ice control activities. Must be able to work day, evening, or weekend shifts on an on-call basis during snow emergencies.

Requirements Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of related experience, snow removal experience preferred;valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with air brake endorsement required;good driving record; ability to lift and carry heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds on occasion; and the ability to operate equipment such as end loaders, dump trucks, snow plows with salt spreaders, and snowplows.

Equipment Experience:Under the Qualification section, include all equipment you are proficient in operating. This may include, but not limited to: Experience operating a vehicle that requires a CDL or operating a snowplow.

2.
