    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Journeyman Cyber Engineer to join the team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

    You will:

    Lead and support teams solving complex problems in cybersecurity, electrical and mechanical engineering, and computer science. You’ll mentor junior engineers, manage projects, and explore new technologies, leveraging your current offensive cyber/ red team activity skills. You will work hands-on with advanced electronics, develop new techniques, and guide junior engineers in doing the same.

     

    Compensation: $65.50

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)

     

    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science

     

    5–7 years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields

     

    Experience leading teams and mentoring others

    Strong understanding of:

    -Cryptography (how to protect data)

     

    -Programming (Python, Java, or C)

     

    -Using command-line tools like Linux

     

    -Networking (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, internet protocols)

     

    -APIs (how software systems talk to each other)

    -Containers (like Docker)

    -Hardware interfaces (USB, Ethernet, JTAG, etc.) -Experience with penetration testing or threat hunting

     

    -Experience with digital forensics tools such as (FTK, Autopsy, EnCase)

     

    -Experience with binary analysis tools and techniques such as Ghidra

     

    -Familiarity with Android OS and mobile device debugging techniques

    -Experience with benchtop equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal/power analyzers, and multimeters

    -Experience with SDRs (HackRF, Ettus, etc.) and GNURadio

     

    -Experience soldering electronics and circuits

     

    -Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion360

     

    -Familiarity with electrical circuits and circuit design

     

    Experience with unmanned systems such as UAS, UGV, and USV
