We have made numerous important advances, and it will take a diverse team with a wide spectrum of skills to accomplish this future. If you have expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, or Computer Graphics, we expect you will find the work here highly intriguing. Available projects may include, but are not limited to:Generative AI models for image and video synthesisMotion and behavior synthesis for digital humansVR/AR encoding of social signalsFace and body reconstruction and trackingMultimodal LLMs, such as speech-to-speech LLMs and audio-visual LLMsOur internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Required Skills:
Research Scientist Intern, Photorealistic Telepresence (PhD) Responsibilities:
1. Solve research problems in enabling photorealistic telepresence and autonomous social agents.
2. Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines.
3. Communication of research agenda, progress, and results.
Minimum Qualifications:

4. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Robotics, Machine Learning, or related field
5. Experience with solving “inverse problems” in imaging emphasizing modeling and algorithm development
6. 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning for solving computer vision and computer graphics problems
7. Experience with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch and TensorBoard
8. Experience with scientific programming languages such as Python
9. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

10. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by patents and first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, ICASSP, or similar
11. Intent to return to a degree-program after the completion of the internship
12. Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
13. Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub)
14. Experience with systems building in Python or C++
15. Experience with large-scale generative models such as LLMs and video diffusion models
16. Experience with Machine Learning for 3D data (such as meshes, point clouds, gaussian splatting, and voxels)
17. Experience with Machine Learning for audio and visual synthesis
Public Compensation:
$7,650/month to $12,134/month + benefits
