In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Meta's mission of connecting the world.The Visual Intelligence Algorithms team seeks exceptional Interns with a background in computational photography algorithms. The primary role of this internship is to conduct research & development on novel enhancement technology for FB AR/VR cameras.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long, and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Research Scientist Intern, Computational Photography Algorithms (PhD) Responsibilities:
1. Research, develop and prototype advanced algorithms in the domain of computational photography algorithms (image processing, machine learning and computer vision)
2. Publish research results that are both publishable and have direct impact on Facebook products

3. Currently has or in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields
4. Experience in ML model training on computational photography (image restoration and enhancement such as denoising, super resolution, defocus deblur, etc.) and computer vision (segmentation, detection, tracking, etc.)
5. Experience with training Generative AI visual models, such as image editing and video creation
6. Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
7. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

8. Intent to return to degree-program after completion of the internship/co-op
9. A strong interest in theoretical and empirical research and for answering hard questions in research
10. Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, concise and actionable manner
11. Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first authored publications at top-tier conferences such as CVPR/ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH(Asia), NeurIPS/ ICLR/ICML etc
Public Compensation:
$7,650/month to $12,134/month + benefits
