Qualifications
The Director of Revenue Cycle Integration will be instrumental in standardizing the assimilation of any new businesses acquired or created, directly enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our revenue cycle operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Transformation within the Revenue Cycle Department, this role will supervise and manage the integration process to ensure the seamless and successful incorporation of new entities into our organizational framework.
• Due Diligence and Assessment: develop and implement standardized protocols for integrating new businesses, acquisitions, and initiatives into the revenue cycle. Conduct a thorough assessment of the acquired company's revenue cycle processes, systems, and performance.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities: Pinpoint areas of overlap, inefficiencies, potential compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement in the combined revenue cycle.
• Technology Roadmap Development: Assess the acquired entity’s existing technology systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems, and develop a plan for integrating or migrating to a unified system.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of new business integration are addressed, including financial, operational, and strategic considerations.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Department and the Transformation Leadership Office to align integration processes with overall departmental goals and objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate the integration process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary adjustments.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between departments and stakeholders throughout the integration process.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate policies during integration activities.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Vice President of Transformation and other senior leaders on integration progress and outcomes.
• Integration Planning and Execution: Define the strategic goals of the integration and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards those goals. Create a detailed plan that outlines the steps, timelines, resources and responsibilities for integrating various revenue cycle functions.
• Align workflows and policies: standardize policies, guidelines, and workflows to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency across the combined organization.
• Staff and organizational considerations: Review and potentially restructure staffing for billing and collections, addressing overlaps and redundancies, and develop training programs for new systems and processes
• Manage vendor contracts: assess current vendor contracts and determine best approach to consolidate or replace third-party vendors for bad debt, clearinghouse services, or other functions.
• Communication and Change Management: Communicate rationale for the integration and its potential benefits to stakeholders, address concerns and ensure a smooth transition.
• Develop communication strategy: implement a plan for regular communication with employees, stakeholders, and customers, to keep them informed about the integration process and changes that may impact them.
• Provide Training and Support: Offer training programs and ongoing support to revenue cycle staff on new systems, workflows, and policies to ensure they are equipped to manage the changes.
• Track performance metrics: monitor key revenue cycle performance indicators to assess the success of the integration and identify areas for improvement.
Education
Required: Description 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree Required Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business
Required: 5 years' experience within business integration, mergers and acquisitions, or related areas, with a focus on revenue cycle management, leadership role.
Licensure/Certification
Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Lean Six Sigma Certification
Additional Skills/Requirements (required) • Proven track record of successfully leading integration projects and managing cross-functional teams. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. • In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle operations and best practices. • Ability to adapt to changing business environments and manage multiple priorities.
