The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics seeks a scientist at the Research Assistant Professor Level to help lead a biochem/structural biology program under the direction of Ling Qi, Ph.D. This **Research Associate Professor (RAP)** will support and expand our research program in the **molecular mechanisms of endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD)** in mammalian systems. This position is essential to advance our NIH-funded work on the SEL1L-HRD1 ERAD complex and its role in protein quality control, metabolic regulation, and disease pathogenesis, including ongoing projects such as **R01DK143292** and **R01AG089640** . Specifically, the RAP will lead efforts focused on the **biochemical reconstitution and structural characterization of ERAD machinery** , areas that are critical to the mechanistic depth of our program but currently underrepresented in the lab’s expertise.
