    **Location:** San Antonio, TX

    **Job Type:** Contract-to-Hire

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly skilled **Automation Technician** to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced industrial automation systems. This role involves working with a wide range of equipment including inventory tracking cameras, inspection systems, conveyor lines, label applicators, printers, computers, and associated software. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to travel extensively.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Install, service, and maintain industrial automation equipment such as cameras, inspection systems, conveyors, and labeling machines.

    + Provide fast and effective remote and on-site technical support to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

    + Train clients and internal teams on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

    + Document and improve installation and service procedures to support scalability and operational efficiency.

    + Stay current with emerging technologies in industrial automation and continuously expand technical expertise.

    + Travel up to **75%** to perform installations, service calls, and client support across various locations.

    Required Skills & Experience

    + Minimum **5 years** of hands-on experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.

    + Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, especially with label applicators, conveyors, and control systems.

    + Proficiency with hand tools and electrical systems ranging from **5V DC to 240V AC** .

    + Solid computer skills including IP configuration, Microsoft Office, and basic PLC diagnostics.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

    + Experience with panel building, electrical assembly, and troubleshooting **PLC** , **VFD** , and **480V systems** .

    + Excellent communication, adaptability, and time management skills.

    + Clean driving record and ability to travel, rent vehicles, and lift up to 40 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in client-facing roles, including technical demonstrations and teach-backs.

    + Familiarity with NEC standards and industrial safety protocols.

    + Background in documenting ‘as-built’ changes and providing feedback to engineering teams.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
