Job Title: 1st Shift CNC Operator
Job Description
A Stand Alone Operator typically works independently on a designated machine or workstation, responsible for producing precision parts from start to finish without relying on a team-based workflow. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage production tasks solo.
Responsibilities
+ Operate assigned CNC or manual machining equipment independently.
+ Set up, run, and monitor machine cycles to produce parts to specification.
+ Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers.
+ Maintain accurate production records and report any issues.
+ Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Ensure quality and consistency of finished parts.
+ Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Essential Skills
+ Previous CNC machine operating experience.
+ Manufacturing and machine operation knowledge.
+ Proficiency with blueprints and technical drawings.
+ Familiarity with measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
+ Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
+ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Experience in CNC machining or manufacturing preferred.

Work Environment
Work the first shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm in a fast-paced precision machining facility. You will be exposed to heat, noise, and industrial equipment. The environment is team-oriented, with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement. The facility is a family-owned business established in 1987, located in a 130,000 Sq. Ft. manufacturing space on 10 acres in Union, Illinois, with approximately 140 employees. The company runs three shifts around the clock, seven days a week, using over 90 pieces of manufacturing equipment, including Matsuura and Makino Vertical & Horizontal Machining Centers. The facility is ITAR Compliant and registered as an approved Department of Defense Contractor, offering opportunities to work with a variety of markets such as Hydraulics, Agriculture, Medical, and more.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of UNION, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
