Job Title: Technical Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate cross-functional efforts in support of new product design transfer and manufacturing readiness for medical devices. This role will serve as the primary driver of project execution, ensuring timely delivery of milestones, quality documentation, and effective stakeholder communication across 13 functional groups including Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Quality. The ideal candidate will be a degreed engineer (Mechanical, Aerospace, or related) with at least 5 years of project management experience in a regulated environment. While direct medical device experience is not required, familiarity with design control, risk management, and process validation is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Lead small and large-scale development projects including budgeting, planning, scheduling, and documentation required for design control.
+ Review new product designs from R&D and provide feedback on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
+ Drive completion of First Article Inspections (FAIs) and incoming inspection checklists.
+ Drive the definition, development, and implementation of new designs to support tech transfer objectives.
+ Facilitate communication and alignment across 13 functional groups.
+ Work with internal departments and lead small project teams to ensure work is assigned and completed according to project schedules.
+ Consult with vendors to prepare specifications and deliverables.
+ Generate and manage technical documentation including reports, meeting notes, change requests, and risk analyses.
+ Ensure compliance with good design practices and regulatory requirements.
+ Open, execute, and close Change Requests in support of Instrument Operations.
+ Define and review Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and test procedures for manufacturing implementation.
+ Mentor junior team members to enhance technical development and business acumen.
+ Contribute to or lead the creation/modification of procedures to ensure product quality and mitigate risks.
+ Stay current on technological advancements relevant to the role.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in technical project management within a regulated industry.
+ Strong understanding of assembly drawings and design documentation.
+ Experience with design transfer and manufacturing processes.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel; JIRA experience is a plus.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Project management experience with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Hazelwood, MO. The role offers 2 weeks of PTO, 10 paid holidays, plus 1 floating holiday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hazelwood, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
