Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Job Description
Join our team as a QC Lab Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. This position involves a balance of quality control and laboratory functions, as well as quality assurance and production support. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, gaining experience in both microbiological and analytical testing, as well as supporting various production processes.
Responsibilities
+ Perform microbiological analysis of products, water, and environment to support Pre-Operation sanitation and HACCP program ensuring food safety.
+ Collect samples for product testing, including energy drinks, sweetener samples, raw water, treated water, sanitation rinse water, and post sanitation swabbing.
+ Conduct analytical testing for energy drinks, including CO2, air, volumes, crimp, torque, pH, brix, flavor, and seam check.
+ Perform titratable acidity analysis and HPLC analysis for caffeine and preservative levels.
+ Conduct T.O.A. analysis for finished products (Taste, Odor, Appearance) and ensure accuracy and calibration of measuring devices.
+ Accurately record and document results from product analysis.
+ Ensure batching sheets are filled out correctly and review ingredient labels, specs, and regulatory documents for validation.
+ Communicate with batching, production, and sanitation teams to support quality assurance functions.
+ Pull finished goods samples for analytical and customer testing and perform QA Line Checks every 4 hours.
+ Review labels and documents for the release of finished products and check equipment temperatures and calibrations.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in wet chemistry and aseptic technique.
+ Strong quality control and documentation skills.
+ Knowledge in line check and inspection, QC checks, and laboratory audits.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2 years of experience in food quality or an AA or BA/BS in a scientific discipline.
+ Strong data/documentation and communication skills.
Work Environment
The role is based at a contract mixing and bottling manufacturer with a full brewery. You will work in a setting that includes two manufacturing sites, each with analytical and micro labs. The position involves a rotating schedule of 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM, typically with 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by a 3-day rotating weekend. You will spend 50% of your time on the lab floor and 50% in the lab, providing a balanced work environment. The team is supportive and focused on long-term fit, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
