Job Title: Environmental Health Safety Manager Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a crucial role in implementing manufacturing methods and safety protocols at our manufacturing plant. This individual will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and create a culture of safety awareness. The role demands a strong understanding of current manufacturing techniques and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and exemplify all EHS requirements to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
+ Develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, industrial, and process safety programs.
+ Track, report, and analyze key safety and environmental metrics to reduce exposure and control risk.
+ Audit, analyze, and collate EHS performance data, proposing effective improvements.
+ Perform facility audits, surveys, and inspections to identify and mitigate environmental and occupational hazards.
+ Recommend and implement new green processes, collaborating with regulatory and corporate compliance.
+ Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure safe material handling.
+ Lead safety and hazard assessments, including Process Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis.
+ Conduct training and seminars, delivering EHS skills and knowledge to staff.
+ Administer and manage the Workers Compensation program.
+ Track compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
+ Lead the Safety Team and Waste Minimization Team programs to enhance EHS performance.
+ Prepare, submit, and document all EPA and OSHA requirements.
+ Develop and implement training for personnel to ensure understanding and compliance with EHS programs.
+ Oversee chemical and hazardous waste management, including transportation.
+ Support and manage the EHS budget and related invoices.
+ Lead emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and plan updates.
+ Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Essential Skills
+ 5-10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ 5+ years in an EHS leadership or management role is ideal.
+ Experience with Automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 suppliers is beneficial.
+ Proficiency in implementation and certification of ISO and OHSAS.
+ Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements including OSHA and EPA compliance.
+ Experience in risk management, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, and industrial safety.
+ Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a relevant discipline is helpful but not required.
+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.
+ Experience with SAP is preferred.
+ Understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants and manufacturing processes is a plus.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of indoor office and warehouse settings. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional bending, reaching, and lifting. This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
Hyndai- Transys covers 90% of med/dental/optical costs with a $300 deductible10 days vacation (not negotiable) they add 1 day for each year of service is completePlant shut down over the holidays in December is paid This position is eligible for OT after 45 hours worked, payable at 1.5X. (should expect to make $10-15K in excess of salary).EOY bonus $2-5K based on performanceSummer Bonus $1,200 (everyone gets this one)
