    *The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Medicine, Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisory Program Manager.*The Manager will be responsible for realizing the vision of the “Advancing Oncology Research Communities in Health Equity (ARCH)” K12 program at UMGCCC, a National Cancer Institute Career Development, Physician-Scientist award program. The Program Manager will report to the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Director for Administration to implement key aspects of the ARCH program. The Program Manager will also support other large multicomponent grant applications from the cancer center. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *_Primary Duties_* * Manages activities and functions to support the training of clinical scientists in community cancer prevention, screening, intervention, control, and treatment research in the ARCH program and across UMGCCC to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with NCI mandate, funding limitations or other specifications. * Manages day-to-day activities of the ARCH program, working with University System of Maryland (USM) institutions, departments, and sponsors to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications. * Works with the Principal Investigator, administration and senior management in implementing ARCH program goals and milestones. Plan, organize, facilitate, coordinate, and control the technical, financial, accounting, resources, and security activities by incorporating several systems, change and process improvements, and business transformation to achieve the goals of the program. * Manages collection of data and perform analysis on ARCH activities at UMGCCC, keeps records of program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, forecasting and prepares reports for administration and senior management. * Prepares K12 grant progress report, participates in program evaluation, maintains a database of ARCH Scholars and keeps detailed record of their career advancement during and beyond the grant-funded period. * Advertises opportunities for applicants to apply to the ARCH program across the University System of Maryland (USM) and coordinate the selection of ARCH scholars through a competitive process * Works closely with Grants and Contracts, Finance, and Business Managers in UMGCCC and outside departments to manage ARCH budgets, request approval of finances, track expenditures, and identify and resolve variances. * Supports UMGCCC staff, trainees, faculty, mentors, and volunteers, and utilize the most appropriate promotional or marketing methods such as individual letters, surveys, brochures, or presentations. * Interacts and maintains liaison with administration, senior leadership, students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating ARCH program objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners to grow the program. * Creates and maintains a cohesive team that works collaboratively to achieve the program’s goals. Oversees the recruitment, performance, and training of team members and continually reviews strengths and weaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involved, and motivated team. * Supports the administration and coordination efforts in preparation of large, multi-component proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors, working closely with UMGCCC Grants and Contracts staff, various faculty, grant writers, and institutional offices. * Maintains communications and manage the liaison between K12 Principal Investigator and members of the internal (IAB) and external advisory board (EAB) and steering committee members; coordinating meetings, keeping minutes, disseminating materials, arranging travel, supporting leadership in sharing and implementing actionable items. * Resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. * Performs other related duties as assigned. *Education:*Bachelor's degree. *Experience:*Four (4) years of program oversight including program planning, budget, and coordination. *Supervisory Experience:*Two (2) years of direct management experience required. *Certification/Licensure:*Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred. *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted. *_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_* Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
