Required Education/Experience

+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of applicable experience in control systems and/or protective relaying, or

+ Master's Degree with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 6 years of applicable experience in control systems and/or protective relaying.

Relevant Work Experience

+ Electrical Engineering educational background and 8 years of applicable experience in control systems and/or protective relaying, required.

+ Demonstrates a solid understanding of analytical techniques for designing and setting protective relaying systems, including short circuit analysis and relay coordination to detect electrical disturbances and ensure rapid isolation of faults, required.

+ Proven expertise in engineering codes, specification development, project and workflow management, required.

+ Strong written, verbal, presentation communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels and be able to motivate employees, required.

+ Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), required.

+ Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical abilities, required.

+ Previous supervisory experience and/or project or team lead experience, required.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred

Physical Demands

+ Ability to respond to system emergencies

+ Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold

+ Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations

+ Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)

+ Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies

+ Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses

Additional Physical Demands

+ The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

+ Must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7 as required by system conditions.
