    Mega Disposal** has an opening for a **Diesel Mechanic Apprentice** to join our GROWING team at our site in **Seekonk, MA.

     

    **Schedule:** Monday - Friday 4pm start time / 50 to 55 hours per week / Saturday's as needed.

    **Pay Rate:** $25.00 per hour

     

    As a key member of our automotive maintenance team, your work as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice will focus on the overall maintenance of equipment used by our company in the transportation and handling of vehicles. This will involve, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Assists experiencedmechanicswithvehicle maintenanceand repairs, learning the trade under supervision.

    + Performroutine maintenanceand inspections on trucks and equipment

    + Conductoil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, andlubrication

    + Assist with brakes inspections, fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other key components

    + Identify potential issues and report necessary repairs to the lead mechanic

    + Maintain accurate service records and reports

    + Keep work areas clean and organized incompliancewithsafetyregulations

    + Assist with minor repairs and support the mechanic team as needed

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + Mechanical aptitude, a drive to learn and grow with a team.

    + Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignments

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    + Welding/fabricationexperience, _a major plus_
