    Job Description

    An environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities is looking to bring on a BIM Designer. As part of the Instrumentation and Controls CAD/BIM team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world. This person will be responsible for a variety of project elements, including drafting and design using Plant3D and CADWorx, along with assessing data to help integrate information across disciplines. The majority of this person's time will be spent on 2D schematics, working directly with a team lead on multiple projects at a time. The majority of this person's time will be spent designing and drafting, and coordinating with project leads and engineers. They will spend about 15% of their time in I&C team meetings to coordinate workflow, project meetings for timeline updates, and CAD meetings across disciplines to coordinate different projects. This person will need a strong understanding of BIM as it relates to instrumentation and controls design. This role will be a 6-month contract-to-hire model, with the primary goal being a permanent conversion. This role can pay anywhere between $30-$40/hr, with permanent conversion salary coming in at or above that rate. This person will work 1-2 days in office in Dallas, to collaborate with other local designers.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    2-7 years in a CAD/BIM Designer Role, related to Instrumentation and Controls Systems

     

    Proficient skills in Plant 3D, CADWorx, OpenPlant, or SmartPlant, working with intellegent P&IDs

     

    Strong understanding of industrial projects

    BIM experience

    Strong written and verbal communication Water/wastewater knowledge

     

    Strong Data Skills

     

    Experience with Microsoft Access
