    Job Description

    A large gas and oil company located in Long Beach, CA is looking for a Sr. Indirect Tax Accountant to be responsible for accounting, taxes and reconciliations for their business. This role will focus on multi-state sales and property taxes, preparing journal entries, and conducting sales tax research as needed. You will be responsible for the below:

     

    - Prepare journal entries, amortization schedules, accruals, and tax reports

     

    - Prepare reconciliations of general ledgers and resolve unreconciled differences

     

    -Support property and sales tax process

     

    - Assist in ongoing sales and use tax self- audits

     

    - Process property tax payments in a timely manner

    Skills and Requirements

     

    3+ years of experience in accounting

     

    3+ years of experience with indirect sales tax (multi state sales tax is preferred)

     

    Strong experience with Excel - V look up, pivot tables, graphs and charts

     

    Strong experience with ERP systems

     

    Bachelor's Degree Experience in the Fuel Industry

     

    Experience in the Retail industry

     

    Experience with Avalara or Vertex
