    Job Description

    A client in the greater Seattle, WA area is looking for a Chief Engineer of System Integration to join their team. This team's main function is to design, test, & manufacture space and launch vehicles that are fully designed in-house. This team works in small teams to complete all tasks involved with the technical design and manufacturing of components and sub components. This team is in need of a Chief Engineer who is extremely well rounded in this space and who can help from a technical and program management perspective. This Chief Engineer will be customer facing and internal leadership facing. They will help to create risk evaluation and mitigation plans for each individual component and subcomponent. You will assist within teams to alleviate key issues. Some of those key issues would revolve around assigning work load and design duties of subcomponents internally based on the key strengths of certain engineering groups, as well as bringing those completed components back together for assembly. The Chief Engineer would oversee the development at a vehicle level of the entire program, to include all subcomponents like avionics, electronics, mechanical and pyrotechnic mechanisms, and system integration. The ideal candidate will have experience at a vehicle level with similar space/launch vehicle programs and have tackled problems that exist when work is completed in house at the sub-component level, rather than contracting work out.

     

    The client is looking for an Engineer who can assist with maturation planning that allows for proper sequencing, and someone who is familiar with the pain points these type of mechanical structure have - with the goal of steering the team to quick evaluation of risk instead of analysis paralysis. This will be a key responsibility that the Chief Engineer will own - requirement interpretation and pushback, ensuring proper program delivery. The ideal candidate will be someone with 10-15 yrs+ of experience in the industry and is eager to be a active problem solver - both technically and programmatically.

     

    165K-225K. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

    Bachelors Degree in mechanical or equivalent technical engineering

    10-15+ years of experience within mechanical, electrical. or aerospace engineering, specifically designing, testing, and manufacturing space and/or launch vehicles

     

    5+ years of hands-on, technical experience in aerospace mechanisms mechanical design

     

    Proficiency in manufacturing engineering software/tools like CAD, PLM, ERP Systems

     

    Strong background in DFMA (Design For Manufacturing Assessment) for precision aerospace manufacturing, preferably within launch vehicles for defense applications

     

    Strong experience managing complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with production schedules, cost objectives, and quality targets.

     

    Experience presenting to and reporting to executive leadership
