    Black & McDonald is seeking an accountant to support our Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, Indiana offices. If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

     

    Black and McDonald, is actively seeking an Accountant who typically reports directly to the Controller. This role in conjunction with the Controller will execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy.

    Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Assist AP with voucher processing, issuing payments, document retention/management

    + Month end closing and reconciliation

    + Preparation, review & analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

    + Assist with preparation of payrolls for hourly employees, and related government & union remittances & reporting.

    + Budgeting and Forecasting

    + Customer Billing for Large Projects

    + Bank account reconciliations

    + General Ledger account reconciliations

    + Tax Preparation and Compliance

    + Process and controls monitoring

    + Other numerous accounting duties.

    + Bachelor's Degree in finance or business administration, accounting or similar field

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in finance or business administration, accounting or similar field

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    + Minimum of 5 years' related work experience, preferably in the construction industry

    + Public accounting experience a plus

    + Excellent written and oral communications

    + Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task

    + Superior interpersonal skills

    + Proficiency in JD Edwards or oracle-based software would be considered an asset

    + Working knowledge of all Microsoft Applications

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
