    Title:Network Security Engineer

     

    Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures that protect enterprise systems, applications, and data. This role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and strengthening the organization’s network security posture while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Network Security Design & Implementation

    + Design, configure, and maintain firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other network security solutions.

    + Implement and enforce network segmentation, access controls, and security policies.

    + Collaborate with IT and application teams to integrate security into infrastructure projects.

    + Monitoring & Incident Response

    + Monitor network traffic and logs for suspicious activity, intrusions, or policy violations.

    + Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing remediation and root cause analysis.

    + Maintain and tune SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools for effective alerting.

    + Risk & Compliance Management

    + Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems.

    + Ensure compliance with frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

    + Document security processes, configurations, and incident reports.

    + Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

    + Patch and update network security devices, ensuring minimal downtime.

    + Recommend improvements to strengthen network defenses against evolving threats.

    + Stay current with emerging security technologies, threat landscapes, and industry best practices.

    Qualifications

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    + Experience:

    + 3–5+ years of experience in network security engineering, administration, or related IT security roles.

    + Hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point, etc.), IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM tools.

    + Familiarity with cloud network security (AWS, Azure, GCP)

    + Experience with Load Balancing tools like NetScaller and F4 (preferred)

    + Invovlment in implementing ZeroTrust Security (preferred)

    + Skills:

    + Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.

    + Proficiency in security tools and frameworks (Nmap, Wireshark, Nessus, Splunk, etc.).

    + Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and secure access technologies.

    + Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    + Certifications (Preferred but not required):

    + Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)

    + Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

    + Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

    + GIAC Security certifications (e.g., GSEC, GCIH, GCIA)

     

    Soft Skills

     

    + Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.

    + Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

    + Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and documentation.

    + Commitment to continuous learning in a fast-evolving security landscape.
