PenFed is hiring two (Hybrid) Sr Analyst, Consumer Lending Policy & Analytics at our Tysons, Virgina location. The first role will lead credit analysis and drive sustainable growth through data-driven decision-making in consumer credit policy. The second role will lead credit analysis with a specialty in net-present-value (NPV) based valuation to drive sustainable growth in consumer credit policy.
Both roles will have a direct influence on PenFed’s credit product experience for millions of PenFed members and positively impact on PenFed’s financial performance while providing data-driven recommendations to optimize the credit product experience.

+ Lead analysis and implementation of credit policy optimization and risk mitigation strategies for consumer credit products, like credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans, to support resilient growth under PenFed’s strategic objectives.
+ Drive monitoring and deep dive analysis to support risk mitigation and portfolio health for consumer credit products, identify emerging trends from economic and regulatory changes and provide insights to leadership.
+ Brainstorm on policy change and provide ongoing analytics to support credit policy and product innovation to adapt to the ever-changing macro-environment.
+ Collaborate with modeling teams to build and validate risk and/or NPV valuation models using both internal and external data sources, implement models in policy optimization, and/or monitor model performance on an ongoing basis.
+ Contribute to team goals and support the growth of analysts through collaboration, mentorship, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
+ Partner with key stakeholders in various groups to spearhead initiatives, execute credit strategies, and enable resilient and profitable growth.
+ Gain familiarity with multiple data sources to gain insight into industry trends and provide supplements in credit decision making process.
+ Enhance portfolio reporting and documentation, improve internal efficiencies, contribute to better data quality and data structures, and meet changing management, audit, and regulatory requirements.
+ Explore creative ways to incorporate AI into credit analysis and BAU process optimization.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, engineering, math, statistics, or other quantitative discipline required, MBA or master’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum of two (2) years with master’s degree or five (5) years’ experience in credit risk policy & analysis, credit risk management or modeling in the financial services industry.
+ Strong skills in various data analysis and visualization tools including SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
+ Experience with Tableau preferred.
+ Experience with Credit Card, Direct Auto, and/or Personal Loan lending policy is strongly preferred.
+ Proficiency with the statistical tools R and Python is strongly preferred.
+ Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
+ Curiosity, attention to details, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations, ability to prioritize among multiple projects.
+ Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills to actively lead and implement ideas in a cross-functional team environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Limited travel to various worksites is not required.
