Design and Construction Project Coordinator – Novant Health
As the Design and Construction Project Coordinator , you will play a vital role in shaping the environments where remarkable healthcare happens. Reporting to the Director of Planning & Construction Services, you will serve in a project management role, acting as the owner’s representative. Your work directly supports Novant Health’s mission by ensuring that facilities are designed, built, and adapted to meet the evolving needs of patients, families, and care teams.
This role is central to business development, space management, and project initiation, with a special focus on the logistics of opening new hospitals and patient care wings, as well as planning and coordinating building moves. Every project you support helps create safe, efficient, and healing-centered spaces for the communities we serve.
This position is hybrid. Winston-Salem, NC will be your homebase location. On-site work in the Winston-Salem region and travel between Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Wilmington will be required.
You’ll be involved in projects that may include:
+ Logistics of opening new hospitals and patient care wings
+ Assisting in the planning and execution of building moves and relocations
+ Real estate procurement and investigation
+ Leasing arrangements
+ Construction up-fits and renovations
+ Equipment installations
+ Space re-allocations

+ Accountability and precision – preparing Project Authorization Request forms and maintaining the Master Project List for transparency and tracking.
+ Flexibility and commitment – stepping in wherever needed to support Novant Health’s mission and ensure facilities meet the needs of those we serve.
Qualifications
Education (required):
+ Bachelor’s degree (required)
+ If your degree is outside of Construction Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field, then 7 years of equivalent experience in planning, design, construction, or project management is required in addition to the degree
Experience (required):
+ Minimum of 3 years of architectural or building engineering CAD drafting
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD software to produce construction documents for institutional, commercial, or other complex building projects
Additional Skills (required):
+ Ability to coordinate and manage multiple CAD projects and related assignments simultaneously
+ Demonstrated success in meeting project goals and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with healthcare-related projects or institutional facilities
+ Knowledge of Revit or other advanced design software
+ Previous exposure to project management or leadership roles
+ Familiarity with regulatory or code requirements related to healthcare construction
