Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$35.670 - $46.030 - $56.380
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Compliance Privacy Analyst works closely with the Project Manager-Privacy to administer Sharp HealthCare's (SHC's) Privacy Program. This position will manage various tasks that are necessary to ensure SHC's ongoing compliance with HIPAA Privacy and state privacy regulations as well as SHC's policies. The Privacy Analyst will develop and utilize privacy tools to lead and manage compliance activities, perform privacy risk assessments and other validation activities, investigate potential breaches and other allegations of noncompliance related to privacy matters, routinely track and monitor privacy related action plans through completion.
Required Qualifications
+ 3 Years health care privacy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health-Care Administration or other health care field.
+ Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) - Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) -PREFERRED
Essential Functions
+ Audit and monitoringPrivacy Audit & MonitoringLead privacy Auditing and Monitoring program activities, by taking ownership of monthly auditing and monitoring efforts.Monitor compliance with, and participate in leading, annual federal and state privacy education.Analyze and assess Sharp’s potential risks using SHC’s privacy breach data, risk assessment data, federal and state, industry expert privacy trends, etc.Manages Business Associate Agreement inventory and evaluates proposed BA relationships.Manages privacy breach data base.
+ Professional developmentMaintain current credentials in privacy and updates regarding changes in federal and state regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the Privacy Program.Adheres to a personal plan of professional development and growth through professional affiliations, activities and continuing education.
+ Regulatory responsibilitiesPrivacy Program SupportWorks independently in conjunction with the Project Manager-Privacy and System Management (Regulatory, HIM, Legal, etc.) in the development and maintenance of SHC’s privacy policies and procedures.Leads and supports the Project Manager-Privacy, and Privacy Committee in areas related to compliance with federal and state privacy statutes and regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, state privacy laws, and SHC’s privacy policies and procedures.Researches privacy regulations and develops SHC interpretation on regulatory requirements.Lead and manage privacy breach investigations and reporting process.Research relevant privacy-related regulatory changes and/or issues and communicate/educate the Privacy Committee and other business units as needed.Create and publish privacy newsletters/training documents for staff and/or workforce education. Develops and delivers privacy training.Leads and organizes monthly and/or quarterly Privacy Committee meetings.
+ Unit supportKey Stakeholder/Business Unit SupportResponsible for managing correspondence from key stake holders regarding privacy matters and other general privacy inquiries.Prioritize inquiries from key stakeholders and lead project-specific tasks and reporting.Maintain professional relationship with key stakeholders focusing on high level of client satisfaction.Communicate regularly and effectively with key stakeholders and upper management.

+ Computer proficiency with Microsoft office applications is required.
+ Ability to perform independent research and factual analysis of privacy matters and create proposed solutions to root causes.
