The Regulatory Compliance Specialist Sr is responsible for complex regulatory compliance issues involving federal, state, and local regulatory compliance requirements. Assists other staff with the preparation and filing of all required compliance reports. Supports the maintenance of relationships with compliance regulatory agencies in order to obtain interpretation of regulations. Monitors operating activities and advises local management regarding relevant current or pending regulations. Represents Company before federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Coordinates as needed with outside counselors to determine relevant regulations and their ramifications.

Responsibilities:

+ Leads the preparation and submission of regulatory filings tied to drilling, completions, and production operations—ensuring alignment with upstream activity timelines and permitting cycles

+ Monitors, interprets, and communicates evolving regulatory frameworks to leadership, translating complex compliance shifts into actionable strategies

+ Preforms investigations into regulatory non-conformance, collaborating with EH&S and field operations to drive resolution and maintain license to operate

+ Provides mentorship to junior compliance specialists or cross-functional project teams, fostering regulatory excellence

+ Conducts targeted compliance audits and due diligence reviews to support asset integrity, acquisitions, and operational readiness

+ Drafts and files high-impact compliance reports and permits, including those for multi-well pads, enhanced recovery, and emissions control

+ Partners with legal counsel to assess regulatory interpretations and implications

+ Designs and implements enhancements to compliance management systems, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency

+ Other duties assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

+ Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience

+ Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Energy Policy, Law, or related field. Minimum 8 year of experience in regulatory compliance or energy-related legal work.

Other Requirements:

+ Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
