About the Role:
CBRE is seeking a skilled and motivated Union Mobile Technician to join our team, providing critical technical support to a major telecommunications client across Northern California. This role is a mobile position, requiring travel to various client sites throughout the region. CBRE will provide a company vehicle, tools, uniforms, iPhone, and iPad to ensure your success in this role.
As a Union Mobile Technician, you will utilize your expertise to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This role requires specialized knowledge in HVAC systems, including chillers, to ensure optimal performance and reliability for our client's critical infrastructure.
What You'll Do:
+ Perform comprehensive maintenance and repairs: Inspect building systems, including HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and achieves the environmental conditions prescribed by the client. Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventative maintenance, accurately completing maintenance and repair records.
+ Manage work orders and resources: Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed for repairs, and order necessary materials and supplies.
+ Optimize energy efficiency: Maintain an energy management program, implementing measures to operate all systems efficiently and minimize operating costs.
+ Respond to emergencies: Respond swiftly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
+ Chiller Expertise: Conduct on-site troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs for various chiller systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
+ Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor the operation of chillers and associated HVAC equipment, analyze performance data, and implement adjustments and upgrades to enhance energy efficiency and reliability.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all chiller operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including refrigerant management and safety protocols, while maintaining a safe working environment.
+ Technical Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to clients and team members on proper chiller operation, maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques to foster effective problem-solving.
+ Travel Requirements: This role requires travel up to 70% of the time throughout Northern California.
What You'll Need:
+ High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four years of related experience or trade school training.
+ Universal CFC certification is preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
+ Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
+ Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
**Important Note:** Should any element of this Job Description or pay rate conflict with the provisions of an applicable collective bargaining agreement, the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement will prevail.
The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is $163,800 annually [or $78.75 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
