The Role at a Glance
The instructor delivers and conducts training courses for water and wastewater utility personnel to increase their technical competence and skills at remote locations. This position's duties include classroom and topic preparation, delivery of classes including demonstrating with teaching aids, and completing required administrative paperwork. The instructor is expected to maintain their technical competence and skills and will report to the Training Manager.
Qualifications of the Role
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
+ Three years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
+ Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
+ Texas Class "B" Water License; or Texas Class "B" Wastewater License.
•TCEQ Sponsor Requirements
One year of experience in training adults and one of the following:
+ 60 hours of classroom instructional experience.
+ Completion of approved Instructor training courses in Methods of Teaching.
+ Completion of approved Instructor training courses in Effective Instructional Techniques and Instructional Design and Evaluation.
+ Completion of approved Instructor training courses in Organizational and Use of Training Materials.
Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree and five years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems or a high school diploma or GED with and seven years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems. Must also meet the TCEQ Sponsor Requirements.
