Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to analyze and validate both new and existing production processes, ensuring product quality aligns with customer engineering drawings and specifications. You will lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions related to material and manufacturing process issues.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as the primary quality interface between the company and its customers, ensuring expectations are understood and met.
+ Analyze product failures and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions.
+ Lead quality-related activities for new model launches and customer agreements.
+ Understand product functionality and help define quality specifications during development and production phases.
+ Track key customer event dates and internal deadlines to support quality planning.
+ Analyze cost and profitability for new quality systems.
+ Conduct and evaluate product tests to determine quality levels for existing and new models.
+ Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
+ Review inspection data and prepare performance reports.
+ Perform process capability studies to improve control and reduce quality costs.
+ Use quality tools to establish approval criteria and identify failure risks for internal and external parts.
+ Evaluate products and processes to identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
+ Document and implement approved changes using sound quality engineering principles.
+ Provide lessons learned and issue management reports.
+ Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve production and quality system deficiencies.
+ Support development and validation of processes and equipment.
+ Promote continuous improvement through training and communication of quality initiatives.
+ Guide the creation of quality documentation (e.g., FMEA, PQCT, inspection standards, check sheets).
+ Educate plant associates on quality standards, testing procedures, and best practices.
+ Lead or support improvement initiatives across safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
+ Provide leadership to enhance team capabilities and working conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must have an Associate Degree in Engineering
+ 2+ years of manufacturing experience
+ 2+ years of experience with ISO 9001, IATF, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and SPC, 5P
+ Nice to have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ 2+ years of experience working in the automotive industry
+ PLC troubleshooting
+ Japanese speaking
+ Experience with die casting
Work Environment
The role involves working closely with manufacturing teams and collaborating on process improvements and documentation. You will be engaged in continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The position requires understanding of quality standards and implementation of best practices across various manufacturing processes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericktown, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
