    Job Title: Pharmacy Technician I – Prior Authorization (Remote)

     

    Pay Rate: $19.99 – $ 21.13/hour

    Training:

    + 5 weeks, Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM CST (No planned time off permitted during training)

    Shifts (post-training):

    + Monday–Friday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (8-hour shifts; assigned by client, candidates may bid for preferred shift)

    + Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (8-hour shifts)

    + Preference for PST time zone candidates

    Position Overview:

    The Pharmacy Technician I (Prior Authorization) handles inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members, providing professional and courteous assistance throughout the prior authorization process. This role requires strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and the ability to escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist team as appropriate.

     

    + Answer high-volume inbound calls with professionalism and empathy.

    + Process prior authorization requests based on established criteria.

    + Accurately document reviews, approvals, and denials in a timely manner.

    + Escalate clinical judgment calls or complex inquiries to licensed pharmacists.

    + Support additional duties including outbound calls, fax/ePA processing, monitoring department mailboxes, and other tasks as assigned.

    Requirements:

    + Active Pharmacy Technician license (state or national certification) preferred; must be in good standing if required by state of residence.

    + 1+ year of customer service, call center, or healthcare experience strongly preferred.

    + Strong computer and data entry skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems.

    + Ability to work remotely with reliable, high-speed internet (minimum 25 mbps download / 3 mbps upload — verify at www.speedtest.net ).

    + Private, secure, and distraction-free home workspace.

    + Must not serve as a primary caregiver during scheduled work hours.
