    My client, one of Hawaii’s most respected general contractors, is seeking a Project Engineer (Commercial – Affordable Housing) to support delivery of residential and mixed-use developments. This role focuses on affordable housing projects, where quality, efficiency, and community impact are essential. Project Engineers in this division play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

    What You’ll Do

    + Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for structural, architectural, and MEP scopes.

    + Provide daily field coordination support to superintendents and project managers overseeing subcontractors and crews.

    + Track and update project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, identifying risks and supporting recovery plans.

    + Assist with procurement and material tracking, ensuring timely delivery of long-lead items.

    + Maintain QC documentation, testing records, and inspection reports.

    + Support cost tracking, budget reporting, and monthly updates for financial oversight.

    + Prepare daily reports, safety records, and compliance logs aligned with company standards.

    + Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and agencies to resolve design and permitting challenges.

    + Demonstrate organizational skills in managing multiple scopes and trade packages.

    What You Bring

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.

    + 3–6 years of construction experience, ideally with residential or commercial housing projects.

    + Knowledge of affordable housing requirements and permitting processes is a plus.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; Primavera P6 or MS Project preferred.

    + Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
