    Job Title: Outside Sales Engineer Job Description

     

    We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative with a background in electrical control systems to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of automation and control solutions with proven sales experience. This role requires the ability to build long-term customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive revenue growth by providing value-driven solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients across multiple industries.

    + Identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities in electrical controls, automation, and related services.

    + Conduct client meetings, site visits, and technical presentations to understand customer needs and propose tailored solutions.

    + Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

    + Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation and closing.

    + Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies in automation and controls.

    + Assist in preparing proposals, quotes, and sales reports to management.

    + Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of sales experience in electrical controls, automation, or related technical fields.

    + Strong understanding of PLC, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.

    + Demonstrated success in business development and account management.

    + Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

    + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Willingness to travel regionally to meet with clients.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in sales engineering and technical sales support.

    + Ability to communicate effectively with engineers.

    + Experience in business development, including cold calling and account management.

    Work Environment

    Office environment with regional travel required through OH, MI, IN, PA, etc., with mileage expensed at 0.74 cents per mile. Some flying may be involved depending on identified opportunities. Current accounts will be managed until the new sales person is familiar and comfortable with the role.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumee, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
