• Automation Engineer (Python, Java) II (Contractor)

    About the Role

     

    We’re seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join a backend-focused engineering team in Philadelphia. This role centers on backend services—no frontend development—supporting customer data, recordings, and scheduling systems. You’ll collaborate with teams based in Pennsylvania and India, contributing to a fast-paced, automation-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain backend services for:

    + Customer account data

    + Recording and device data

    + Scheduling and reminders

    + Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra

    + Support CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes frameworks via syndication partners

    + Ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, and fully automated

    Requirements

    Technical Requirements

    + Languages & Tools:

    + Strong proficiency in Java (backend services)

    + Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse

    + Version control using GitHub

    + Project management via JIRA

    + Experience:3–5 years in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

    + Solid background as a Software Development Engineer (SDE)

    + Automation: Role is nearly 100% automated

    + Candidates with strong coding skills and stack understanding are encouraged to apply

     

    Interview Process

     

    + Format: Virtual preferred

    + Structure: 1-hour session including:

    + A brief coding exercise

    + Technical and behavioral interview

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Networking experience (preferred but not required)

    + Familiarity with VCR systems (nice to have)
