Job Title: Entry Level Land Surveyor
Job Description
We are seeking an entry level candidate with experience working outdoors. As a Land Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our surveying team. You will be responsible for operating various instruments and equipment to collect accurate field data, aiding in the execution of a wide range of surveys.
Responsibilities
+ Operate a total station instrument and data collector.
+ Operate a GPS rover.
+ Operate a level and read a level rod.
+ Complete basic field calculations.
+ Cut and clear survey lines using hand tools.
+ Maintain a clean work vehicle.
+ Follow basic safety procedures.
+ Take directions from Project Managers and coordinate work efficiently.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in using Total Station, GPS rover, and data collection equipment.
+ Experience in land surveying and data entry.
+ 0-1 years of experience working on a survey crew or similar experience, although training is available for candidates with no experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or G.E.D. required; formal training in a surveying-related field is a plus.
+ Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
+ Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
+ High moral and ethical character.
+ Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
+ Clean driving record.
+ Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) as required.
Work Environment
The role involves collecting field survey data for various types of surveys including boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, wetland and tree locations, and construction layout. The work schedule is typically Monday to Friday with some Saturdays, working from 6:15 am to 4 pm, totaling 40-50 hours per week. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
