    Job Title: Structural Engineer with Aviation/Aerospace Experience

    Job Description

    An aerospace company is seeking a highly experienced and confident Chief Engineer to lead engineering efforts across its U.S. and Canadian operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is critical to driving technical excellence, resolving engineering challenges, and supporting business development initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    + Review non-conformance reports and identify and address design issues.

    + Collaborate assertively with design engineering teams.

    + Drive product readiness from design to production and streamline in-house engineering processes.

    + Contribute to proposals and customer-facing technical discussions.

    + Act as a technical authority across structural, stress, and design engineering.

    + Manage liaison and manufacturing engineers.

    + Solve complex engineering problems and support business development initiatives.

    Essential Skills

    + 10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace.

    + Strong background in structural and stress analysis.

    + Familiarity with FEA and airworthiness analysis.

    + Experience across design, sustaining, and manufacturing engineering.

    + Ability to review and analyze non-conforming reports.

    + US Person status for ITAR compliance.

    + Must pass a background check and drug test (including THC).

    + Eligible for access to military bases.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Current or former DER or DAR certification.

    + Proven leadership and confident decision-making skills.

    + Authoritative technical presence with strong communication abilities.

    Work Environment

    The position is located onsite in Tampa, FL, with travel required 3-4 trips per year to Canada, and 3-4 customer visits per year to domestic and foreign military bases. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a long-term career path. The work schedule consists of a 4-day work week (Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM), totaling approximately 45 hours per week. The company offers a subsidized health insurance plan (~65%) via Florida Blue and provides an opportunity to work in a small, agile company with sole-sourced solutions and proprietary IP.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
