Job Title: Civil Drafter Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Drafter to produce detailed civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and cross-sections using Civil 3D and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with civil engineers and project managers to interpret design specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

+ Create and modify 2D and 3D models for infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local codes and regulations.

+ Perform calculations for quantities, alignments, and profiles as needed to support drafting tasks.

+ Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, clients, or regulatory agencies.

+ Maintain organized project files and documentation to support project delivery and archiving.

+ Assist in preparing construction documents, including plan sets and exhibits for permitting and construction.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

+ Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including grading, drainage, and site design.

+ Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.

+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings.

+ Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, CAD design, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus but not required.

+ 2+ years of experience as a Civil Drafter.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Knowledge of other design software (e.g., MicroStation, Revit) is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, using technologies like Civil 3D and AutoCAD to produce precise and high-quality drawings. A strong focus on teamwork and effective communication is essential, along with adherence to regulations and industry standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
