The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The General Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, using hand and power tools, and testing equipment. Meets requirements as defined by applicable Department Specific Equipment Competency Checklist.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent

+ Minimum of 1 year experience in Hospital or Industrial maintenance, construction, etc.

+ Familiar with general building and maintenance techniques

Preferred:

+ Vocational School graduate

Certifications and Licenses Required:

+ Valid New Jersey Driver’s License

Scheduling Requirements:

+ 7:00am-3:30pm

+ Weekend and holiday rotations

+ Full Time

Essential Functions:

+ Assists in orientating new staff per established hospital and department policies

+ Assists trades as needed

+ Assists with snow removal as needed, plowing, shoveling, and spreading sand

+ Completes and returns required paperwork on time

+ Demonstrates a cost-conscious attitude in requesting the purchase of departmental equipment and supplies

+ Performs all service work orders and PM’s in an accurate and timely manner

+ Performs routine general maintenance repairs to various types of equipment as it pertains to the maintenance and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds and the care of the patient, being electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry

+ Provides routine repairs to Environmental (Hazardous Surveillance) rounds

+ Performs all other duties as assigned
