Job Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomy Supervisor helps oversee the overall operations of all phlebotomy locations and will serve as back-up in the event of the Specimen Receiving Supervisor's absence. Responsible for various administration functions, including interviews/hiring, procedures/policies, completion and sign off on performance evaluations, and training/orientation of new staff. Monitors personnel problems (i.e. frequent errors, attendance problems, inappropriate behavior, and counsels on an as-needed basis). Answer questions from outside clients regarding test ordering, drawing, and registrations of patients. Candidate is expected to perform Phlebotomy, Receiving and Processing duties as needed. Visit all patient service centers to assess needs and concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
An associate's degree and at least four years of clinical laboratory experience, or related field (phlebotomy, specimen receiving), is required. If the incumbent does not have an Associate's degree, they must have a Clinical Laboratory Technician license with NYSED by the time of appointment. At least one year of supervisory experience is required. Phlebotomy certification or CLT license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Phlebotomy certification preferred. EPIC knowledge is also preferred.
Work Days:
M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm
