Job Description:

**Miller Electric** , an ITW company and a leader in the welding industry, is looking for a **Document Technician** to join our Precision Welding Solutions **Engineering Team** . In this role, you'll be crucial in supporting both our sustaining and new product development efforts.

What You'll Do:

As a Document Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Engineering Documentation

+ Create and modify drawings, 2D & 3D models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), schematics, engineering specification sheets, and test documentation.

+ Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with analysis, updates, and validation of associated documents.

Technical Publications

+ Collaborate with Engineering, Service, and Marketing to develop, revise, and edit Owner’s Manuals, Technical Manuals, and Field Instructions.

+ Ensure documentation reflects changes updates accurately and clearly.

Process and Standards Development

+ Assist with documentation roundtables to align best practices. Facilitate and lead conversations involving Miller Electric documentation technicians.

+ Develop and implement documentation standards, ensuring consistency and alignment with business initiatives and regulatory/policy requirements.

Cross-Functional Liaison

+ Serve as the main documentation point of contact between Engineering, Marketing, Materials, and Service teams, as well as internal and external suppliers.

Quality and Accuracy Control

+ Analyze the impact of documentation changes, including BOMs and “where-used” references.

+ Review documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with standards.

Qualifications We're Looking For:

Education:

+ Two-year technical degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology

Experiences:

+ Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling and ability to edit or create prints using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

+ Experience with the Microsoft product suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

+ Familiarity with or ability to learn Omnify PLM, Microsoft D365 ERP, and SolidWorks PDM.

+ Strong understanding of BOM structure and its critical importance within manufacturing.

**Attention to Detail & Organization:** You must be organized, detail oriented, and willing to seek out missing information to ensure documentation is completely fully and accurately.
