Compensation: $73.75 - $78.75 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid Position Overview
This position requires experience managing complex technology projects, leading business process reengineering (BPR) of enterprise systems, and evaluating technology products.
Duties
+ Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of BPR and IT projects.
+ Communicate with sponsoring organizations to assist in needs assessment, scope definition, risk evaluation, and process improvement.
+ Draft specifications, review proposals, define work plans, manage tasks, track deliverables, and oversee systems integration and/or development.
+ Review project proposals and plans to determine timeframes, budgets, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
+ Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams through SPR, project launch, system selection, integration, data conversion/migration, QA/QC testing, training, and implementation—ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
+ Apply best practices and project management methodologies appropriate to project scope.
+ Develop and manage schedules using Primavera Scheduler, MS Project, Project Scheduler, or similar tools.
+ Review status reports from contractors and staff; adjust schedules and plans as needed.
+ Prepare project reports for management, clients, and stakeholders.
+ Provide technical advice and resolve problems in collaboration with project teams.
+ Perform power system engineering and oversee deployment management.
+ Manage software QA testing, error reporting, correction, and verification.
+ Maintain project-specific databases to record software errors and corrections.
+ Assign duties, responsibilities, and authority to project members.
+ Use internet-based tools to communicate with project stakeholders.
+ Conduct regular project meetings with contractors and stakeholders to monitor progress and address required actions.
+ Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
+ Conduct and evaluate post-mortems to improve future project performance.
+ Ensure a long-term outlook and sustainability for supported systems.
+ Manage project issues, revise plans as necessary, and communicate changes to team members.
+ Maintain close contact with project sponsors to ensure shared vision, stakeholder buy-in, and ongoing support.
+ Pursue continuous self-improvement in management, technical, analytical, and business skills.
+ Prepare and evaluate proposals and solicitations.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
+ Extensive knowledge of system integration, testing, and change management.
+ Ability to quickly learn and apply business process analysis and benchmarking techniques.
+ Strong technical and analytical skills to apply technology solutions to business problems.
+ Power-user level knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office, databases, and the ability to master new tools quickly.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
+ Strong leadership and influence skills.
+ Ability to gather and analyze information to make sound decisions.
+ Proven ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies and products.
+ Team-oriented, with a focus on maintaining strong customer relationships and satisfaction.
+ Skilled at tracking and organizing multiple projects or large-scale initiatives.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Recent, verifiable experience working on transit industry projects, with demonstrated knowledge of voice, data, and power systems.
+ Minimum of seven (7) years of IT project management and consulting experience.
+ Proven track record managing large enterprise system implementations involving modern information technologies and/or SPA.
+ Experience designing low- and high-voltage AC/DC power systems.
+ Formal training and experience in project management, estimating, cost and schedule management, variance reporting, and electronic project management tools (Primavera, MS Project, Project Scheduler).
+ Familiarity with internet access, email, and web hosting technologies.
