About the role

Our practice is seeking a highly qualified **Java Dev (Onsite)** with experience in developing and building impactful, scalable, enterprise applications.

Our Developers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users.

Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in **San Leandro, CA.**

Key Responsibilities

+ 7+ years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar role.

+ Strong proficiency in Java, Microservices, Oracle, MongoDB, Kafka, Spring stack (Spring Boot, Spring frameworks, Spring Data JPA).

+ Extensive experience with JUnit and achieving 100% code coverage (line and branch).

+ Strong experience with Oracle & MongoDB databases.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

+ Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

+ Strong collaboration skills to work with other technological teams and architects.

Required Qualifications:

+ 7+ years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar role.

+ Java 17 + Spring Boot

+ MongoDB

+ Kafka

Nice to have skills:

+ Good to have Proficiency in automation testing using BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Karate and Banking domain.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until October 23, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 – $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
