Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based
District: School District of DeSoto County
Start Date: August 2025
Contract Length: 39 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Approx. 7.5 hours/day (37.5 hours/week)
Grade Levels: K–12
Position Overview:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. This role includes conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapy in accordance with physician orders and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations.
+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Provide direct therapy services to students across all grade levels (K–12).
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress.
+ Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
+ Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student success planning.
+ Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Florida.
+ Florida Department of Education (DOE) Certificate required.
+ Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred (may be required by contract).
