    Purpose

     

    JBT Marel is interested in hiring a local college student pursuing a BS Degree in Engineering to work as an intern for our engineering department. The purpose of the intern position is to provide hands-on work experience while allowing JBT Marel to complete projects that align with the individual's training. You will be part of the JBT Marel poultry division, located in Russellville, AR, reporting to the Engineering Manager. We manufacture our C.A.T. brand of chillers, injectors, pumps, and plant monitoring and weighing systems for primary processing.

     

    The Opportunity ...

     

    The assigned projects for the intern will vary based on the individual's capability and competency. The goal is to see both increase with experience.

     

    + Complete all tasks assigned, including appropriate documentation of actions taken.

    + Potential responsibilities may include design, development, and validation of technical solutions.

    + The intern may be requested to troubleshoot/diagnose equipment not operating as intended, or assist someone else in this activity.

    + Potential design responsibilities include: material specification/selection, quantitative analysis (FEA or other) of structural, fluid transport, or heat exchange systems.

    + Documentation responsibilities may include: detail drawings, assembly drawings, utility drawings, and bills of material.

    + Knowledge of basic drafting, dimensioning, and tolerancing techniques is desirable.

    + Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes is desirable.

     

    We are seeking a junior or senior engineering student to work 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. The position allows for flexibility with your class schedule and will last until the end of the fall semester.
