### Job Duties
Responsibilities
Develop and implement sustainability plans and programs, considering factors such as cost, feasibility, impact, and ability to conduct a cost benefit analysis on projects.
Engage with agency, academic and NGO partners on collaborative projects, and with tribal community to promote sustainability efforts, both on- and off-reservation (i.e., ceded territories).
Stay up to date on sustainability trends and best practices; identify and implement those relevant to tribal priorities.
Work with other RMD staff as needed to coordinate project activities, track and report on project milestones and measures of success, evaluate effectiveness and develop strategies to address sustainability challenges.
Work with the RMD team to identify, plan and implement appropriate restoration projects for forest lands and forested wetlands.
Collaborate with other FDL departments to integrate sustainability into policies and practices.
Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to communicate sustainability initiatives highlighting their effectiveness and environmental impact.
Produce resources, including brochures, fact sheets, pollen reduction data, and online media content to promote sustainability practices, procedures and objectives.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
### Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability or related discipline required; master’s degree preferred.
### Minimum Experience Required
Qualifications
Valid Driver’s License issued in the US required.
Driving eligibility determined by FDL approved guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability or related discipline required; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of two years’ work experience in the environmental, engineering, or natural resources field required.
Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, Microsoft Outlook) are required.
Experience with GIS/GPS technology required.
Experience with project management, including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation required.
Experience with environmental data management and analysis, graphical display preferred.
Experience in environmental management and sustainability policy development preferred.
Experience working with local and other governments, community organizations or NGOs on sustainability initiatives preferred.
Experience in writing grant proposals and managing grant-funded projects is preferred.
Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs and beliefs is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
The ability to meet deadlines as demonstrated by the timely completion of reports, plans, and other types of work is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Some travel is required. The Sustainability Analyst will be expected to attend professional meetings and training workshops in related fields.
