    JOB SUMMARY:

    While upholding Hoyt’s Policies and Mission and Values Statements, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for pulling and preparing items for shipment, stocking shipments and maintaining inventory data.

     

    I – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    This person is responsible to accurately fill customer orders by pulling product, packing and preparing the product for shipment. They will package orders neatly to give a good appearance and will assure that all packages have the correct labels, addresses and references, complete shipping paperwork correctly, maintain the integrity of the inventory in the shipping department.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

     

    II – JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    This position requires:

    + Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Accurate and ability to pay attention to detail.

    + Self motivated and dependable .

    + Ability to climb ladders and stand for 8-10 hours.

    + Forklift certification.

    Training and Education:

    Type of Training Forklift training.

     

    Education High School diploma or equivalent.

    Required Prior Work Experience:

    Type of Experience Knowledge of Hoyt products and shipping experience helpful.

     

    Note: Management reserves the right to require specific training for this position. However, depending upon the type and the quality of prior work experience, some exchanges can be made between training and experience.

     

    III – QUALITY AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

    Decision Making and Problem Solving:

    Must be able to fill shipping orders accurately.

    Interaction with Others:

    This job requires the ability to interact with other employees and work as a member of a team.

    Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities:

    None

    iV - Working Environment:

     

    Physical environment – Works in warehouse/production environment with exposure to varying noise and temperature levels. May be required to do moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, standing, reaching, walking and standing for long periods. Climbing ladders and exposure to heights is required.

     

    Mental pressure – Demands to meet departmental quality standards and tight deadlines under pressure.

     

    PAY: Starting at $18/hr and up, depending on experience.
