Public Health Nurse*

Washington County Public Health has an anticipated vacancy for aPublic Health Nurse*. Performs public health nursing activities with individuals and families in accordance with the planned program of the agency; does related work as required. Under supervision performs public health nursing activities involving responsibility for assessment of health needs and developing the plan of care for individuals and families. The work is distinguished by the responsibility of the incumbent for initial implementation of nursing care plans and providing nursing care. Supervises Registered Professional Nurses and staff assigned to carry out the plans of care. The incumbent is also responsible for periodic re-evaluation of individual and family nursing needs. Evenings and weekends may be required.

*This is a Civil Service Competitive position. Provisional appointee must take a future-dated

Training & Experience exam and be reachable on the resulting Eligible List.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four year college or university as well as licensure and current registration to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

RATE OF PAY : $32.28/hour plus benefits and NYS retirement.
