    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Category Manager to join one of our medical device clients within their Chemical, Paste Filling, and Packaging sourcing team. As a Category Manager for the chemicals/paste filling and packaging category, you will collaborate globally with innovative teams to drive strategic and operational excellence. This role is responsible for managing contract manufacturing partners to ensure product availability and a competitive supply base. You will lead supplier relationships through performance management, contract negotiations, and business reviews, while implementing solutions to complex sourcing and supply chain challenges. The position involves cross-functional engagement with internal teams to resolve issues and execute strategic initiatives, as well as driving continuous improvement in supply chain agility, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation. Additional responsibilities include leading RFP/RFQ processes, benchmarking, make-versus-buy decisions, cost analyses, and supporting new product introductions.

     

    This person should preferably sit in either San Antonio, TX or St. Paul, MN

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -Bachelors degree or higher

     

    -7+ years of experience in 3rd party supply chain and/or category management within a manufacturing environment

     

    - 2+ years experience in chemicals/paste mixing, packaging and filling and/or chemicals raw materials management

     

    -Demonstrated experience in managing and developing supplier relationships including contract negotiation and cost savings
