    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who is responsible for conducting independent reviews of existing piping designs, support structures, and related analyses to ensure system reliability and compliance. They identify potential design issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement within piping systems, recommending appropriate corrective actions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to effectively address and resolve technical concerns. The engineer applies relevant regulations, design codes, and standards—such as ASME—for fluid systems to maintain engineering integrity. They also generate comprehensive technical review reports that document findings and recommendations, and coordinate with interfacing disciplines including electrical engineers, instrumentation and control (I&C) engineers, mechanical equipment designers, and test engineers. Additionally, they prepare and present system design results to both internal and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Salary depends on experience but ranges from $150,000 to $200,000.

    Skills and Requirements

    A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required.

    A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in engineering is required.

     

    Must have extensive experience in piping analysis using AutoPipe software.

     

    Must be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC section VIII.

     

    Must be proficient in design and analysis software (e.g. SolidWorks, ANSYS).

     

    Must have experience reviewing and interpreting piping stress analysis reports and design documentation.

     

    Must have excellent technical writing skills.

     

    Must have strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

     

    Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office applications.

     

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.
